I really hate my anal skin tags!!

I'm just a normal, regular, everyday guy; 36 yrs old. BUT, (no pun intended) I have to deal with "ANAL SKIN TAGS"! What are they? Well, they are similar to hemorrhoids, but aren't exactly the same thing. They are flaps of skin that protrude, or hang from my rectum. They're just an inconvenience, & embarrassing for the most part. They don't hurt, or cause a whole lot of discomfort, (other than emotional). I HATE THEM!! I have had them for about 10 -12 years now. Although it started out as just one small one, I have aquired a few more, which have grown over the years. I want to have them removed, and have been researching info on the net. However, I can't find a whole lot of stuff about them. Sure, I can find PLENTY of articles, & pages on "hemorrhoids", and "fissures", and "cancer"..... but not much on MY condition, "ANAL SKIN TAGS".
I took these photos for medical documentation, & educational purposes.
These are actual pictures of MY anal skin tags. These are completely untouched photos, other than cropping the images to fit better in a webpage.
I know I'm not the only one with this condition, but I AM the only one I know.
Wish me luck in finding information on removal procedures.

So happy I found this page and kudos to you for posting your pics!! Been seeing someone for a couple months and noticed these today on my guy. I never knew people had these or that it was an issue. I was sorta freaked out, but didn't say anything bc he takes excellent care of himself. I also figured to was prolly embarrassing for him, though I wish he would've told me so I wasn't surprised. Anyhow did a google search, found out what they were, found your web site, and now I'm educated!! Thank you!!!! Yeah and nice ass and sac!!!

A friend of mine has crohns and she has had problems with her butt and same scenario.... guys don't care. Don't say it just let it be cause life is life and no one is perfect. And if they do find another too many fish in the sea

I developed a skin tag after having a fisstula and I don't know what the doctor did but after surgery I had these things hanging from my anus I was embarrassed and knew from that point on I would be single forever. so I researched a few places and explained to the doctor how embarrassed i was by them. I numbed the area and snipped them off. It was the best thing I ever done what a relief. I still have a tiny one left the doctor didnt cut off that over time seems like it has grown and tomorrow Im going to the doctors office to have them laser off as well

Thank you for sharing. I have just about lived with the problem for years and needless to say I was too ashamed to look into it or talk about it.

Your pictures helped brake through the denial. I am a gay guy and to this day I do not dare showing it in fear people think I have anal worts.

They are just as severe as yours. It would probably best for me to see a specialized surgeon to have them surgically removed.

Any suggestions in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I had a hemarroid removed and skin tags(not sure how many) i dont wan tot look at it or i may feel faint. I had no pain at all after the operation, the nurses couldn't believe i didnt even want Panadol. But, yes there a BUT, (haha no not trying to be funny lol) ..the bowel movement the next day, almost made me faint from pain. I couldn't stay in the bath any longer cos i felt like i was going to faint in the tub. Quickly got out, wrapped a towel, and just made it to my bed, i was seeing stars. Fingers cross it gets better. Oh and when drying my anus i felt a lump,so i am thinking did he really do it,or not?

Oh and btw, i think skin tags are OLD hemmaroids that have just died.

I had a thrombosed hemorroid. Went to the Doctor and he prescribed me lotions that didn't help at all. Finally I decided to cure myself using a medicine called Albothyl. You can buy Albothyl overseas only. Every time I travel back home I get a new bottle of Albothyl. $5 only!
In 2 days the fissure was healed and now Im back to normal. No more pain. But the skin tag is still there. Dot know how to get rid of it.

Thank you for posting these photos. I have the exact problem but I'm not gay or male. I think I have crones disease bc I've got other stomach issues. Youre amazingly brave for sharing this. I don't feel so isolated today. Thank you.

I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, with hands-on experience in the same "subcutaneous anomolyological neoplasms" both HPV-related and non-HPV related, featured on this blog. Also, I am a gay-male who, back in 2005, had a similar severe case of ANAL WARTS (to just call this for what they really is).

After coming out and having several years of *back door love* I found a small bump that mushroomed into two huge growths (with their own vascular system (blood supply) measuring over 1.6" x 2.5" x .84". The condition came on quickly with the growth reaching plateau size in about 7 weeks. I hoped the condition would self-resolve, which often happens, but in an atypical condition with vascular extension, that never happens I learned. After a few months, I talked to a good buddy who was also doing his residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, next door to the CDC. My friend was able to do all the embarrassing biopsy and removal procedures for me. But, this is a nothing to be ashamed of, it is basically a dermatology issue with your anal area skin.

All the images featured on this blog are actually "atypical hyper-plasmatic papilloma and/or condensed condyloma acuminatum analivarium. The only way to know if these are "warts or HPV related" is to do a biopsy with genetic profiling. Of the 42 subtype of HPV warts, only three quite rare (lesss than 2%) variants develop into potentially pre-cancerous growths. And of those, only a small fraction result in metastatic anal cancer.

Back then I wish this product was available, https://www.drscholls.com/products/wart-removers/freeze-away-wart-remover, because I would have just froze them off myself! Cheers

These are not warts. They are caused by old hemorrhoids and constipation. You might not even notice them until they've become obnoxious like this. If the tissue is stretched too much, it won't go back. They hurt to remove because of the sheer number of nerve endings in the area. Just talk to your general practitioner. They've probably seen everything already.

hi, i went to a general surgeon she told me she won't remove the tags without performing hemorrhoid surgery. she also refused to tell me which procedure she will use and said she will decide during the surgery day. I was completely pissed off. now I am going to see another doctor and hoping he wud help me solve my problem and not just make money. as my major problem is the loose skin around my anus which causes alot of discomfort and anxiety.

Why do you feel pain? Do you have an open wound in the folds of the tags?

I had a small anal tag for years, ever since I can remember. When I was pregnant my gyno thought it was a wart and put that freezing stuff on it which only made it larger. It was about the size of a pea but elongated. I hated it for years until I FINALLY went to a doctor who removed it with a hot laser or something. The healing time was about 10 days and I finally have a normal butthole, better late than never! It's so much easier wiping and I'm no longer embarrassed when being "intimate" Yay!

HILARIOUS!!! And suuuuuch a good point... They MUST have their own "ass issue" if they're able to stumble across this post, no doubt! I didn't even think about that until this person brought it up! LMAO!! (too bad I can't laugh my own anal skin tags off! 😂)

To the guy above who made those rude comments. What worries me is if you don't have these issues why are you looking and commenting on a site like this. That is extremely weird mate don't you think
