....And the tags are STILL here

Today is Feb 23rd, 2012 -
I figured it was time for another update, since it's been a little while.

I still have my tags & I'm continuously searching for information about removal & the success rate & the risks / recovery times. So far I haven't run across any new breakthroughs.... but alas, I continue to look.
I even started checking out medical/clinical research trials to see if I could find anything to volunteer for. (No luck with that either.) It's almost as if this particular subject / condition is too taboo in the medical world, and nobody wants to mention it. (Or it's just completely overlooked & not being paid attention to.)

On another note-
I would REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like to chat/email directly with the girl (Anonymous from Oct 18, 2011) who left the comment on my blog!!!

Believe me, I can sympathize and empathize with you.
I'm also quite attractive, (barring the collection of growing fleshy skin on my keister... LOL! )
I've always gotten lots of attention from women.... whistles, flirts, heads turning, phone numbers.... etc. Although; I never paid any mind to it. Because, (until recently) I've been married the whole time since the first tag appeared, so it was never an issue for me to be nervous about someone new seeing them.

Butt, (pun definitely intended) now that I'm newly single, this IS a bit of a concern of mine.
I mean, I can just imagine the shriek of horror that may echo throughout the room, upon their first peek at my grotesque disfigurement. :-0

So, to my "Anonymous" mystery friend: (From Oct 18, 2011)
If you follow my blog, or even just happen to come back and you notice this post, please gimme a shout!

I'm not exactly sure where you're from, but I have a general idea based on a couple phrases you used.
I'd love to talk to you & see how you've been dealing with the anxiety of "wondering what someone new might think". Not only that, but I'd be up for trading some face pics with you, and getting to know you personally, as a friend.
;o)

And who knows?; If we're both single & ever get a chance to meet, we may discover something even more special.......

I mean after all, stranger things have happened!

:)

I'm 26 years old and just discovered 2 skin tags in the same area and I am COMPLETELY embarassed. I have a boyfriend but they were not there when we first started dating so I'm almost scared of mentioning anything to him. I have never been sexually active in that area because it almost makes me think maybe that's where they would come from, but as I said.. that has never happened. I'm scared for it to get worse or for me to get more. I've also been looking for some removal method but have found nothing.. :(

Green tea oil. Used daily 3 to 4 times. Be patient because you wont notice any difference for about 2 weeks. Then is about 3 to 4 weeks they will dry up and fall off.

Dermatology office. I use to work at one and would see this quite often. They can usually just be frozen off by LN2 or shaved off but if it were me I would stick with just having them frozen off it's a lot less painful and the recovery time is much shorter (usually 2-3 days). Hope this helps.

Ok, so it's been a couple of days since I started the castor oil and baking soda. The tag has hardened, don't know if it's shrunk any or not. Tonight I'm going to take a hot bath and then do the compound w. I'm hoping the combination of the 2 makes this go quickly. It does still burn the tag a bit, not as bad as when I tied it off, but enough to make me squirm when sitting. I think the compound w is going to hurt like a bitch because I'm already kind of aggravating that area, but I'll suffer through it.

Im surprised you are having such a hard time getting them removed. I had a hemorrhoidectomy and due to the surgery i now have a tag. Very common and the doctor said they could take it right off. He said its painful but quick and then its gone. Have you changed your diet? And drink enough water ? That might help to prevent more from coming or making them bigger. With all the poking and proding they do down there i kinda feel lime he owes me a dinner . Im very interested to hear that youve got this matter resolved. My sister works in medicine and she.says you have to lie. If you tell them you are depressed and have bad thoughts they might make an exception. Ive gone as far as to.say these things when.i had another problem. Just trying to think of ways to get you the help you deserve

Seriously? I talked to my MD about mine... and mine are FAR worse than what I saw of yours... she referred me to a surgeon (there's no way cuticle scissors or compound W would do anything with mine!). I will be having surgery to have mine removed. Side note: I thought they were hemorrhoids. My MD thought they were hemorrhoids. But the surgeon said skin tags. I'm still not convinced they aren't hemorrhoids, but as long as she gets rid of this pain in my ass (pun intended), and I have a normal looking a-hole again, I don't care what they are or how much it hurts. I am having surgery on a Friday and taking the following Monday off work. And back to work on Tuesday.

Point of my story. Go see your Dr. My surgeon says these are very common!

I have had them for years and always thought they were piles and pushed them up with cream. Im getting bleeding now and when I was getting checked out she told me they were skin tags and harmless. I had two hemorrhoids which were causing the trouble.
Thanks again for photos.

Awesome blog, you're one cool dude! My first girl butt tag appeared when I was 36. Hated it: hard to keep clean, sometimes sore & itchy and often bled. It was about the size of the tip of a pinky finger & a really thick connection to the main skin. Not like a little stalk. Really worried that it had some connection to being polyps so went to my GP who assured me it was a harmless tag but referred me to a Colorectal surgeon (at my insistence cuz I wanted this thing off). A needle down there (the most painful part)& a clip - it was off! Hardly any pain or bleeding. All good. Til it came back when I was 40. Went to my GP again but the specialist had retired & the new one wouldn't do the snip on the spot at the initial consultation. Thought I'd find some info & read heaps like tying off, creams, wartner etc. But its pretty tricky access down there, & not a little bit scary with sharp things, everything being super sensitive 'n all. So I held out. Till the other night it started bleeding during regular sex- totally gross right?
Last night I found your blog, inspiration hit. I sterilised the largest nail clippers & some dental floss, got some bandaids and medipulv antiseptic powder, tissues, torch & mirror. Everything super clean & dry down there. Squatting was easiest for me. I made a slip knot in the middle of the floss and lassoed that sucker! Pulling tight was a bit painful but I iced it straight away & for a long time too - I wanted that sucker NUMB. Could just fit the big nail clippers over the bulb and as close down to the skin as poss. Started to squeeze (promising myself if I started to writh in agony I'd stop without cutting,'n just leave it tied 'n hang). Unbelievable: NO PAIN! Cut it straight off & not too much bleeding. Put powder & bandaid. Went to bed thoroughly elated & hardly feeling a thing. Woke this morning, carefully peed, wiped up a bit of dried blood, went for a 4km walk! Glad its gone, know what to do if/when it comes back now! Definitely see you Dr first to check that what u have is just a tag, eat heaps of fruit & vege, if you do try something at home be very careful & CLEAN. Infection will make things really sore down there. That's why I was worried about leaving it tied for days/weeks. And I'm impatient about these sort of things. So happy now! ;) It's the way it makes you feel. It is a pain in the ass!
Hope everything is going well for you and October lady has been in touch. YOU ARE AWESOME INSPIRATION!

Are you kidding me? 5 years and no removal? Any doctor is able to do them, just ask. It's a very common procedure. I don't know where you're looking but you must not be looking good enough because it's definitely confirmed all over the internet that you can get them removed.

It's been a long time since you posted about your anal tags, did you get them taken care of? Would like to know as I have this problem as bad as you do. Hope you have done something by now. Did yours get very sore, did you have hemorrhoids as well? What did you find out, please update us.

Two questions:

1. Did you finally opt for a surgery/procedure?
2. Any luck on tracking down "Anonymous from Oct 18, 2011??"
